Hollywood Sign
This American Landmark was originally erected in 1923 as a temporary advertisement for a local real estate development named "Hollywoodland..." In 1949 the “land” part of the sign was removed. This Icon has had a sordid history including the infamous suicide of Actress Peg Entwistle, who jumped to her death off the “H” in September of 1932.
